Transparency about who produces Peste.com.br's content, how it is verified and the status of medical review.
Peste.com.br editorial team
The project is maintained by an editorial team that gathers, verifies and classifies public information about plague. We are not a health authority, a laboratory or a news outlet: we are an informational monitor that always points to the original sources.
How we produce content
- Collection: we gather publications from official sources (WHO, CDC, national health authorities) and recognised news outlets.
- Verification: every statement is classified as confirmed, reported or unconfirmed, based on origin and convergence of sources.
- Original writing: explanatory texts (disease, symptoms, transmission, treatment, prevention, history) are written by the team, based on medical literature and the references cited in each article.
- Transparency about automation: news collection is automated from public feeds. Analysis and context are editorial.
- Corrections: errors are corrected explicitly and logged on the Corrections page.
Medical review
Review by a licensed health professional is being arranged. Until a real professional is credited, we claim no medical credential.
